Toddlers are often described as “big feelers,” and for good reason. Early childhood is a time of intense emotional growth, limited language, and rapidly developing brains. Big emotions, frustration, and meltdowns are all part of typical development. Sometimes, however, those big feelings signal more than everyday toddler stress. Understanding the early signs of anxiety allows parents to respond in ways that build emotional security and confidence, rather than unintentionally reinforcing fear.
