Emily Arleth, M.S.
Pre-Licensed Counselor/Play Therapist, Undergraduate Internship & Volunteer Coordinator
Emily is a pre-licensed clinical mental health counselor/play therapist with a concentration in child trauma and play therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University and is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
Emily is passionate about creating neurodiversity-affirming, healing spaces for neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults. Her work is grounded in empathy, play (for all ages!), creativity, and advocacy, with experience across home, school, and clinical settings supporting clients with ADHD, Autism, PTSD, and trauma histories. She began her journey at SEC in 2022 as an undergraduate intern and progressed to now serve as a pre-licensed therapist.
Emily’s clinical approach is strengths-based, client-centered and play-focused, integrating play therapy principles to support emotional and sensory regulation, self-advocacy skills, social connection, and self-understanding. Emily is currently becoming certified in AutPlay® Therapy, a neurodiversity affirming framework for implementing play therapy to address the mental health needs of neurodivergent children, and their families. She aspires to become certified in Animal-Assisted Play Therapy® (AAPT) and pursue a doctorate in Counselor Education to advocate for the leveraging of neurodivergent voices and inclusion in mental health settings.
In addition to her clinical work, Emily coordinates SEC’s undergraduate internship and volunteer program and enjoys mentoring future mental health professionals. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her dog Simba, traveling, gardening, cooking, music, and gaming.
