Brett McDevitt, BSW
Graduate Intern
Brett is one of our graduate interns at SEC. He is currently in school for his Master’s of Social Work (MSW) at Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Brett received his undergraduate degree from West Chester University (WCU) and currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW). During his time at WCU Brett interned at a local agency and facilitated groups for children who had an autism diagnosis. Brett has experience working in residential treatment facilities serving adolescents with behavioral and learning support needs. For the last two years, Brett has worked in a local public middle school co-facilitating an Emotional Support program. He has experience working one on one with students and overseeing social skills groups.
After graduation in Spring 2025, he will continue his pursuit of gaining licensure in clinical social work to get his LCSW. Brett will pursue specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a focus on implementing mindfulness practice in his sessions.
In his free time, Brett enjoys being outdoors in nature hiking, biking or just taking a mindful walk. He enjoys spending time with his family, especially visiting his niece, Emma. Brett loves music and plays the drums.
