Julia Thomas
Therapeutic Facilitator
Julia is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Millersville University, with an expected graduation in Spring 2026. She brings a strong passion for supporting neurodiverse individuals, both through her academic work and hands-on experience.
At Millersville, Julia serves as the president of the university’s Best Buddies chapter, where she leads inclusive social activities for adults with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Her commitment to fostering meaningful connections is evident in her volunteer and professional work.
Julia’s background includes several summers as a camp counselor at a local day camp specializing in social skills development for children and teens (ages 3–16) with ADHD, autism, anxiety, and learning differences. She has also worked as a teacher at a daycare, caring for children from infancy through age five. In addition to her work at SEC, Julia serves as a direct support professional for adults over 21 with autism and/or IDD.
Julia joined the SEC team in 2024, providing one-on-one support during the Summer session. Between semesters, she continues to support the team by assisting with the facilitation of group sessions and completing organizational tasks around the center.
In her free time, Julia enjoys hiking, cooking, longboarding, and relaxing with a good TV show.
