Gracie Gehring

Social Skills Facilitator

Gracie is a social skills facilitator here at SEC. She interned with SEC in 2023, joined SEC’s summer extended school year program in Summer 2024 and officially joined the SEC staff in the Fall. Her experience in A Moment of Magic where she interacts with medically vulnerable and underserved children paired with her grief support internship at A Haven equips her with the understanding of navigating new norms of daily life. She is a research assistant at West Chester University, with her team studying the transition to college. Gracie’s interest in the field lies here with expected or unexpected changes in life and discovering the impact it has on our well-being and outlook. She is graduating December 2024 with a degree in Psychology and minors in Applied Ethics and Health Sciences. Then she will be pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Gracie enjoys making arts and crafts and fostering peer interactions with her little clients and talking about goals, passions, stress management, and self-esteem with her older clients. Gracie can’t necessarily tell you her favorite age group to work with, as she finds there’s something different to value for each and every one of them.

In her free time, Gracie likes exploring nature, visiting new restaurants, and spending time with those close to her.
