Six Week Summer Camp for ages 2-21

Summer/ESY Program 2018: June 25- August 3

Monday- Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday 9am-12pm
Sessions run 9am-12pm and/or 1pm-4pm
*Lunch option available upon request

Preschool/ kindergarten Programs: ages 3-6

The program offers a true summer experience with a social and therapeutic focus. We use a variety of fun, engaging, and structured activities to provide opportunities for children to practice and learn new skills.  Activities are based in play to support social interaction. We incorporate sensory based activities, engaging developmentally appropriate games and projects, into daily activities.
Specific areas of focus include:

  • Social skills– developing play skills, social language and communication, play theme development, imaginary play
  • Behavior management– utilizing positive behavior support plans, reinforcing appropriate attention seeking behaviors, developing conflict resolution strategies, flexible mindset, language and behavior awareness
  • Academics– daily circle time, early math and literacy concepts, activities to develop focus and attention

Elementary Programs: ages 6-13

Our summer program is designed with a focus on social skill building while maintaining academic skills during the summer months. Activities are engaging and age appropriate.
Specific areas of focus include:

  • Social skills– conversation skills, building cooperative play skills, friendship concept development, recess games and activities
  • Behavior management– utilizing positive behavior support plans, reinforcing appropriate attention seeking behaviors, developing conflict resolution strategies, flexible mindset, language and behavior awareness
  • Academics– IEP goal implementation, tracking and summary report writing

Teen Summer Programs: ages 13+

This program focuses on increasing teen’s social competency and self-esteem. Activities are designed to be interactive and comprehensive. Teens practice skills such as cooking, social planning, and presenting ideas to a peer group.
Specific areas of focus include:

  • Executive functioning skill building– time management, decision making, goal setting, learning strengths, and study strategies
  • Social skills enrichment– navigating social media, stress management, importance of initiating and maintaining friendships, and dating
  • Teen transitions– Whether the transition is to middle school, high school, or college we offer age appropriate support
  • Academics– All academics are individualized. IEP goal implementation, tracking, and summary report writing

Hourly Sessions and Related Services: ages 3-21

These are additional hourly services that can be incorporated into all daily schedules. SEC therapists are PA certified and compassionate instructors with years of experience.

We offer hourly sessions throughout the summer to work on goals specific to each client.
